BK VG-/GOOD+ DJ WITH TINY TEARS CHIPS EXTREMITIES, FEW PGS HAVE BLANK MARGIN EDGE CHIPS, though all printings starting with the first, were printed in the same month and year. released in the same year as the London edition, ,Hardcover. HBDJ, 1st edition, SEPTEMBER 1928, 34th printing, Same Month As First. No reserve and a low start so good luck and don`t forget to check out my other items for some lovely rare Children`s First Editions. Beautifully illustrated throughout by E H Shepard. The reverse of the title page has just the date of First published in 1928 showing this to be the true first edition. All other pages on the whole clean and fresh. There is some browning to the endpapers which is common caused by the jacket flaps. Internally the book is in great shape presenting well. The corners remain quite strong and the book sits nice and square and remains firm and solid. Gilt titles to the spine with gilt decorations to the front. There is some fading front and back and the spine is faded also. Bound in its original salmon cloth covers this is a good+ copy of this collectable nursery classic. This is the true UK First Edition / First printing and is highly sought after and collectable.
